The Ice Sculpture Festival for Youth “Inheritors of the Great Victory” was held 13-16 January on the city esplanade in Perm.

During 5 days, from 1 through to 5 June 2009, masters from Perm, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Lithuania and Great Britain carved sand. The jury gave the first place to the Perm team – Tatyana Kuznetsova and Marina Yerkovitch. Authors of the sand sculpture “Yuryatin” were given diplomas and the first prize.

The sculpture "The Legend about Perm Bear" will be dismantled on the 29 October, 2008. It will be removed from its place on the open site near the building of Legislative Assembly of Perm Krai.

Just after the International Festival of Modern Plastic "The Season of Art", Perm, another competition of metal park sculpture started in Tobolsk on 24 June. The Competition is hosted for the first time at instigation of Non-commercial Fund of Sculptors of Russia 'Edinenie' and administration of Tobolsk.

The team of the Fund of Sculptors of Russia ‘Edinenie’ came back from Salekhard, where at instigation and participation of the Fund the I Open Competition ‘Cup of Russia on Snow and Ice Sculpture ‘Zimniy Vernissage’ was carried out. It was the first official ice and snow sculpture competition on the territory of the Russian Federation. The Competition was carried out in category ‘Ice’.
