The Ice Sculpture Festival for Youth “Inheritors of the Great Victory” finished on 16 January.
The Ice Sculpture Festival for Youth “Inheritors of the Great Victory” was held 13-16 January on the city esplanade in Perm. The Festival is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
The organizers of the Festival are the Committee of Culture at the Perm City Administration and Fund of Sculptors of Russia “Edinenie”.
5 teams of 3 persons took part in the Festival. They are students of Perm State Institution of Fine Art, Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Art and Architecture, Perm Art College, and Kungur State Art and Industrial College.
First of all members of the jury assessed technical craft of the sculptors, artistic expression and originality of a sculpture. The jury was represented by the chairlady of the City Committee of Culture Lyubov Fyodorova, chairman of the Council of Fund of Sculptors of Russia “Edinenie” Aleksey Tutnev, member of the Union of Painters of Russia, president of International Association of Actual Art “Artemida” Yuriy Lapshin, prize-winner and winner of international festivals of snow, ice and sand sculpture in Russia and in other countries Tatyana Kuznetzova.
According to the decision of the jury the first prize won a team from the Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Art and Architecture including Anatoliy Skarednov, Ekaterina Trubina, Vladimir Melekhov, and their work is “The Victory is Our Heritage”. The team has a right to represent Perm on the Cup of Russia of Snow and Ice Sculpture “Zimniy Vernisage”, which will be held in 2011.
The prize n.a. Nikolay Polukarov was awarded to the select team of Perm State Institution of Fine Art and Perm Art College, including Sergey Batuev, Alena Shashova, Andrey Katayev.
