VI Open competition Russian Cup of Snow and Ice Sculpture “Zimniy Vernissage” will be carried out in Perm on the square in front of the Theatre-Theatre from 13 till 19 January 2019, it will unite more than twenty best masters of ice sculpture from different parts of our country and of the world. 11 teams of ice sculptors from China, Malaysia, Russia and Singapore will fight for the Cup. Such a “laboratory” in the open air is a unique experience for the participants, as there is no any institution where students are taught to work with ice.

Common topic for the participants of this year is “Japan Motifs”. The masters will have just five days to transform huge cubes of ice into sculpture compositions according to their sketches. The working time on the site is fixed from 09:20 till 19:20. The work before and after this time is forbidden. Such a competition in mastership in the non-stop mode is a kind of a marathon, that requires maximum skills and physical abilities, as well as need to work with difficult material in any nature conditions.

All citizens and guests of the city can follow the work of the sculptors: creating the sculptures will be on the open territory of the main ice town of Perm (square in front of the Theatre-Theatre). The gallery of ice sculptures will add the space to the New Year complex and will be there till spring.
